For Kim’s entire life she has been creating art. She doesn’t know life without it. Drawn to vibrant color and inspired by nature, her art is very colorful with a folk art whimsy. She started selling her art as crafts in 1986. Her art has evolved into canvas paintings, mainly acrylic, sometimes watercolor and liquid acrylics. Most days she can be found either at her studio, where she paints larger scale acrylic paintings and offers classes & workshops, or at her home studio where she paints smaller scale in the company of her two pups. Living in East Tennessee is another gift to Kim. When she needs inspiration she hops in the car and takes off to the mountains for a photo shoot or visits a local gallery. Kim’s fabric designs have been digitally printed to capture the vibrancy of her art. Her collections sell out quickly and make lovely colorful quilts. Kim has a feeling of success when she hears how happy her art makes others feel. She describes her art as “a simple prescription for a smile”.
